How much does it cost to hire a cleaning service?
Would you like to hire a cleaner, but you are not sure how much it would cost? This guide will explain how a quote is created.
The first thing to consider is the size of your home. If you live in a house or flat with 1 bathroom and between 1-3 bedrooms this would usually take 2 hours to clean. During a 2 hour clean this would involve a general clean of the kitchen (30 mins), a general clean of the bathroom (30 mins), vacuuming throughout (30 mins), dusting surfaces, and mopping hard floors (30 mins). If your home has a downstairs loo the cleaning would usually take around 2.5 hours and if your home has an ensuite bathroom this would take around 3 hours.
There are some other factors to consider that may affect how long is needed to clean your house. For example if you have a pet/pets this can quite often create additional vacuuming and can sometimes mean furniture such as sofa’s needs to be vacuumed regularly. Equally if your home has lot’s of knick knacks this can also take additional time to clean. At Maxine’s Pristine Clean we ask our customers to leave the house in a tidy state so cleaning can commence. However sometimes our team may need to tidy away toys, make beds and do some washing up and that is fine but it may take longer to complete the cleaning.
The next thing to consider is the frequency at which the cleaning will be carried out. At Maxine’s Pristine clean we would encourage a weekly cleaning service; this ensures the cleaning is kept at a good standard and additional tasks can be carried out with ease (such as up-high dusting with a feather duster). However fortnightly cleaning is an option, this can be a good option for single occupants. If you are a family wanting a fortnightly clean this may require a longer clean than if it were to be carried out weekly. At Maxine’s Pristine Clean we do not carry out monthly cleaning, if you would like to book a clean once per month or once per quarter this would need to be 6+ hours and would depend on availability.
At Maxine’s Pristine Clean we currently charge £16 per hour (January 2021) and do a minimum of 2 hours per visit. The cost of cleaning is increased once per year.
If you currently have your cleaning carried out by Maxine’s Pristine Clean and you are considering adding a furry friend to your household or extending your home to include an extra bedroom or bigger living room etc then the length of your cleaning will need to be altered.
Please remember producing a high standard of cleaning takes time. If your cleaner is rushing from task to task this is not conducive to a high standard clean.
