How to get the most out of your Cleaning Service.

How to get the most out of your Cleaning Service…

It goes without saying we all want to get the most for our money. This guide will shed light on some tips and tricks to ensure you are able to receive the best possible service and get the most for your money. Using the experience I have gained over the last 8 years of cleaning people’s homes and managing each homes different quirks has given me the knowledge to pass on to others to ensure they get the most out of their cleaning service.

Step 1: Identify what is a priority for you.

It’s important for your cleaner to get to know how you use your home and therefore what would be more of a priority for you. For example if you have a room in the house that isn’t used as much as the others it’s good for your cleaner to know this – I would still clean this room but maybe not spend as much time as the other rooms, its better to do a quick whip round during every clean rather than it be left and need a deeper clean at a later date.

For me although having the bathroom, kitchen and floors cleaned is a complete lifesaver another useful task to have done is having the bedding changed.

Step 2: Start with a deep clean.

Having a deep clean is super useful to ensure your cleaner will start off on the right foot. A deep clean includes a thorough clean of every room meaning everything will be brought up to the Pristine standard. When a deep clean is not carried out for the first clean it is possible your cleaner will need a few cleans to get round to the finer details. At Maxine’s Pristine Clean we usually do double the usual time slot for the first clean to ensure your cleaner is not struggling and as a customer you are Wow’ed!

Some of our customers even have a yearly deep clean to allow for the cleaning of the windows, behind furniture, washing doors and door frames and all the other jobs that slowly build up around the house.

Step 3: Ensure you and your cleaner have the same information.

The date/day the clean is taking place, the time of day the clean will be taking place, the duration of cleaning, the length of the clean, how the cleaner will access your home, which rooms will be being cleaned or not being cleaned, where the vacuum is kept….

These are all important details that your cleaner needs to know. In my early days of cleaning people’s homes, it seemed to be a regular occurrence to arrive at a customers home and not be able to gain access ☹ This is very disheartening and can leave the cleaner feeling unappreciated.

At Maxine’s Pristine Clean we now stay in regular contact with our customers to ensure we are all on the same page.

Step 4: Let your cleaner know when you are not happy with the cleaning.

Even the best cleaner can sometimes not know how important something is to the customer. We once had a cleaner that repeatedly moved fairly lights from around the bed to ensure all dust had been removed (something I would think is preferred) and then returned the fairy lights to the headboard. The customer finally explained this was not ideal as the fairy lights had been very meticulously placed around the bed headboard.

Equally employing a team of cleaner’s, the biggest fear is that the standard of cleaning will not be same as when you are carrying out the cleaning yourself. Therefore, customer feedback is essential.

At Maxine’s Pristine Clean we send our customers regular feedback forms to give them a chance to identify places where improvements can be made.

Step 5: Let your cleaner know when you are happy with the cleaning.

It is no secret that when someone feels appreciated, they will work harder! We are extremely blessed to have customers that are so appreciative and let us know we are doing a good job 😊

As the owner of Maxine’s Pristine Clean I always pass on feedback even if it’s just a quick message or comment from a customer. I have also actively sent thank you cards and gifts to my team as they are truly hard workers who really care that the customers are happy.

If you are a customer of Maxine’s Pristine Clean and you’d like to let us know what a good job we are doing feel free to leave a review..
